Working with B4RN to deliver Hyperfast Broadband to Preston Richard
We are Live!
|
Since going live a year ago we have continued to branch out in all directions from the Hub at the Village Hall.
The large machine pictured here has been used to lay ducting to the North, through the Fisheries field and on to Low Park Lane. We also have live connections in Sycamore Close, Birchfield and Dove Nest Lane. Obviously work has been impacted by the latest lockdown but there is still plenty of preparation to do so that we are ready to leap back into action when restrictions are relaxed. If you can help bring Hyperfast Broadband to your neighbourhood please contact us. We are not just looking for diggers. You may be able to speed up provision of the service in your area by helping to coordinate amongst your neighbours. |
GOV.UK emailsSome people have received an automatic email from the government saying the Gigabit Broadband Voucher issued to "your supplier" - B4RN - is due to expire. Happily this is not the case as B4RN has an extension for all our vouchers. In fact, the email then contradicts itself by saying that "during the Covid-19 situation your voucher will not be cancelled". You may safely ignore this email. B4RN will contact you if the situation changes. A copy of the email can be seen on our Info page here.
Please don't confuse this with another GOV.UK email which some people have received recently with the subject "Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme – action required". Please do act on this. |
Don't miss out! Now is the time to submit your service request. To future proof your house's connection go to the "Get B4RN" page, here, and sign up. No money or bank details required at this stage. B4RN will wait until your current contract expires before making your connection live and asking for money! Find more info on our Service Request page. Any questions? Email b4rnpr@gmail.com

The Next Phase - Help with coordination still needed
Now that the Community Broadband project is gathering pace and work starts on a number of mini projects in parallel across the parish, we are looking for help to coordinate the construction activity. This does not necessarily mean actually doing the digging, but more importantly to manage and coordinate the activities for each dig. This would include coordinating the necessary equipment, skills and materials needed for each section of digging.

Green Light for Hyperfast Broadband for Preston Richard
- We are delighted to announce that our Community Broadband Project has been granted approval to apply for Government grants for properties in our parish.
- All properties who would like to receive B4RN's Hyperfast broadband service in the future must complete the on-line Service Request Form. This is in addition to any previous registration of Expression of Interest which may have been submitted in the past. There is no obligation at this time but it helps us plan to get you connected.
- Instructions can be found on the Service Request page of this site.
- It is VERY important that everyone who would like to subscribe to the service completes the on-line Service Request Form to ensure that our community broadband project receives maximum government funding towards the costs of building the network and to ensure that all eligible properties receive a government grant! The sooner people fill out the form the sooner we can secure the government money and build the network.
- Thank you to everyone who submitted an Expression of Interest. We would not have got this far without you!
