We are delighted to announce that our Community Broadband Project has been granted approval to apply for Government grants for properties in our parish.
All properties who would like to receive B4RN's Hyperfast broadband service in the future must complete the on-line Service Request Form. This is in addition to any previous registration of Expression of Interest which may have been submitted in the past.
Instructions can be found on the Service Request page of this site.
It is VERY important that everyone who would like to subscribe to the service completes the on-line Service Request Form to ensure that our community broadband project receives maximum government funding towards the costs of building the network and to ensure that all eligible properties receive a government grant! The sooner people fill out the form the sooner we can secure the government money and build the network.
Thank you to everyone who submitted an Expression of Interest. We would not have got this far without you!
The next Preston Richard Community Broadband meeting is on the 23rd September 2019, 730pm at the Endmoor Club Inn.
This is an opportunity to catch up on the progress made with this program and raise any questions you may have.
We are committed to ensure everyone within the community is kept informed of this program and everyone within the community has the opportunity to obtain access to Hyperfast Broadband service.
Why not bring a friend, neighbour or someone who is not yet sure of the need for this service. It is a community event and the bar opens at 7pm.
We look forward to seeing you there.
The Circuit Champions have been doing a great job, not just in the Village itself, but also in Crooklands where we had a successful Crooklands Community meeting at the hotel. As a result of the Champions’ work the number of people registering an interest in hyperfast broadband (Expressions of Interest) is increasing steadily. Wayleaves agreed have also increased so we now have agreement for over 50% of the 7 miles of the core network. Our thanks to the property and land owners involved - without their help and cooperation the project would be much more difficult.
The only key element which has been slower than expected, probably because of the holiday season, has been investment. To put it bluntly if, as a Community, we don’t generate the level of investment needed then the project will stall. If you are thinking of investing and getting 5% interest don’t put off what you can do today. Your financial support will help bring hyperfast broadband to our area.
We promised to keep you all updated. The next Community Meeting will be Monday 23rd September at the Club Inn at 7:30 pm. Look forward to seeing you there.
