Now that the Community Broadband project is gathering pace and work starts on a number of mini projects in parallel across the parish, we are looking for help to coordinate the construction activity. This does not necessarily mean actually doing the digging, but more importantly to manage and coordinate the activities for each dig. This would include coordinating the necessary equipment, skills and materials needed for each section of digging.
If you would like to get involved in any part of this, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or via the Contact page.
Following a hectic and productive 3 weekends of working at Millbrook Caravan Park, the community volunteers are taking a break this weekend before we launch the next phase - the link from the entrance to the Caravan Park up to the parish’s Router (also know as the Head End) at the Village Hall.
You will all know about the recommendations of the Covid-19 pandemic. Our understanding is that our project is low risk. We are outside in the fresh air and, almost by definition, work more than 2 metres apart. However it is a rapidly changing situation so the pause both gives us a welcome breather and time to evaluate the latest advice.
As ever, thank you for your support.
Grandfather and grandsons setting too on a tricky dig adjacent to Millbrook Caravan Park last weekend. Plenty of hardcore and concrete to negotiate. With the help of other volunteers we have just about finished that phase of the dig, including our link to the outside world at Gatebeck Farm. On top of that most of the house kits have been installed inside the properties. Thank you to all who have helped.
